OUR CORE BELIEFS

We believe that every person is a beloved child of God!

WELCOME

At Waterloo United Methodist Church, we know that inspiration opens hearts. An open heart is an open mind and an open mind is one that can practice tolerance, experience gratitude and feel the glory of God. It is our belief that God is present in all of us, but His active presence can only be felt through faith in Him.

We are dedicated to the service of Jesus Christ and all his people, and our goal is to be inspired through our worship and faithful discipleship. We invite you to become a part of our growing congregation.

Waterloo United Methodist Church has been committed to transforming the way people shape their religious identity. Since 1833, we have ensured that the ideals of our faith are user friendly and take pride in our ability to create a welcoming home for those wishing to grow in faith.

Our congregation is fueled by a firm belief in the teachings of our Lord, and when we are together with the Holy Spirit of God we become one. We welcome you to join our community and discover the power of God's love and grace in your life.

THE MISSION OF THE CHURCH

Embracing & Extending the Teachings of Our Lord

Waterloo United Methodist Church has the honor of connecting people to God, Jesus Christ, and to one another in a loving and caring setting. It is our mission to empower our community to become disciples of Jesus Christ by learning the gospels and practicing His word.

The word “church” originates from the word “gathering” or “to gather”. This is why we so strongly cling to the notion that the church is not a building or a structure, but rather, the church is actually the believers themselves. We aim to maintain and foster a comfortable environment for our congregation to gather, build relationships, demonstrate love and share their faith. We believe that the Lord Almighty rewards those who take time out of each day to show their gratitude through prayer and works of mercy.
